- Found no oil on dipstick- recommend starting w/oil change. Scanned for codes and found: P0022 timing over retarded bank 2. Removed valve cover and found timing chain bad/loose on d/s- recommend replacing. Completed approved repairs and test drove vehicle- timing code came back as pending; possible defective part. Need to look into further. Tested solenoids and wiring to solenoids. All check out. Found oil pressure drops below spec at operating temperature. Timing system requires minimum of 15psi in order to operate. Found oil pressure will drop down to 8-9psi. Tried running 5-30 and lucas oil stabilizer. Allowed vehicle to idle for approximately an hour while monitoring oil pressure. Oil pressure now reading 16-17psi at idle. Test drove vehicle approximately 10 miles and P0022 and P0420 returned as pending. Recommend replacing engine.
